Bees in myths and legends

1 commentA gentle introduction to Beer
Perhaps the third most popular drink in the world and one of the oldest beer has been praised for its good effects and more often blamed for its bad effects. In moderation beer is good for you but in excess it is bad for you. The process of brewing is relatively simple though there are some potentially lethal pitfalls in the selection of materials.

2 commentsA Peculiar Poltergeist Pair
Two old poltergeist cases from different parts of the world are presented and reviewed, Both have an element of unrequited lust, both involve spirit voices. 3 commentsHoaxes and Hoax Hoaxes
When investigating anomalies the possibility of a hoax is never far away. Two cases are considered that show uncovering a hoax is not enough. Further speculations are given but the case for and against ancient giants remains open.

9 commentsProblems of a clockwork universe
In most religions, but especially those that worship books, the universe is a pale shadow of paradise. The invention of mechanical models of the movements of stars and planets led to the notion of the world as a machine. These two notions fused into the technocreationist idea that we are living in a computer simulation, and indeed ARE simulations. These two ideas have been used as tools of oppression and control. The notion of the world as machine has problems that are discussed here
